Yet, as history's darkest mind control experiments - like MKUltra and Unit 731 - had shown, even the most meticulously controlled minds would sometimes rebel. As the Director pressed on in her relentless pursuit of perfection, her own humanity withered, leaving behind only a monstrous desire for total domination.
